A photographer was on a random stroll through the countryside of Portugal sometime back when he came across a vast storage barn. And who doesn’t love a good barn find especially a photographer? His curiosity got the best of him, and he walked up to the building looking out for a place to have a peek inside. And what he saw made his jaw hit the floor with shock. It was a dream come true for anyone who loves rare cars and promising content for his photographs. He went to the farmhouse near the building and asked if he could look inside. The owner of the farmhouse told him the story and made him swear to keep the location a secret. He was allowed to photograph the cars however he could not tell anyone where he found this hidden gem.
After seeing through the windows, the photographer found an entire farmhouse full of untouched classic vintage cars covered in dust.
The house owner said the photographer that the cars once belonged to an old vintage car dealer who stored the rare and unique vehicles in the farmhouse. But as the cars have been there untouched for over 30 years dust has accumulated on them. The farmhouse owner agreed that the photographer may take as many pictures as he wanted but only on one condition that he must keep the barn location a complete secret from anyone.
The photographer agreed and the owner opened the doors to the barn. “I can only imagine harps playing and angels flying out as the doors opened because, to me, this is heaven,” the photographer said.
He found some of the rarest, sought-after vintage cars in the world and a whole farmhouse full of them. 180 classic and not-so-classic cars to be exact. Each one was unique and rare. The photographer also asked the owner if any of the vintage cars were for sale. The property owner simply replied “No”.
The dealer closed its doors sometime in the late 70s or early 80s and the cars have been sitting ever since. He even found some classic open-wheeled race cars in the abandoned farmhouse. Collectors are trying to find the location of this barn and hopefully strike a deal with the owner to sell these vintage gems.
According to the property owner, the cars will stay as they are and none will be sold. A few cars among them are in perfect shape and just need a wash, some seals and new fluids. Like this late 50’s Porsche Speedster hardtop!
